The Council is planning to close seven local libraries, among them Clifton. Clifton library does not currently represent value for money for our community - with 2328 users at a cost of over £72,000 per year.
We would like to see the library building transferred to the community for a nominal amount and run as a community space by and for the community.
The building would continue to house the small library but its empty rooms would be opened up to community use by local associations and clubs.
With Cllr Charles Lucas, we are campaigning to achieve this solution which would benefit the Council budget and the community.
