Charles Lucas elected as Clifton Councillor

Charles Lucas has been elected as Councillor in the Clifton ward today, replacing the previous Liberal Democrat Councillor.

Charles says, "I am delighted and thrilled to be able to represent the people of Clifton, Clifton Wood and Hotwells on Bristol City Council and to be a loud voice on the Council promoting our special part of our great city.

"I am extremely grateful to everyone who put on the election and those who voted, despite the turnout being low, I intend to utilise this opportunity for the benefit of the people of Clifton."

Gareth Alan-Williams, who was standing in Clifton East, came within 17 votes of winning the seat from a very senior Lib Dem. His no-nonsense approach made him a popular choice and he has pledged to continue supporting and promoting the ward.
