Bristol West Conservatives turn out to meet Lord Waldegrave

More than 100 people attended the Bristol West Summer function on Friday night, with Lord and Lady Waldegrave the Guests of Honour. The event, held at the Clifton Club, was a chance for Conservative supporters, Bristol West residents and local businesspeople to meet Lord Waldegrave, former Cabinet Minister and MP for Bristol West 1979 - 1997.

Among the guests were councillors, aldermen and one of Bristol's three Conservative MPs - Chris Skidmore, MP for Kingswood.

Lord Waldegrave spoke on the future of conservatism and reflected on his time as an MP and Cabinet Minister.

Auction prizes included original photographic art by Carol Stagg, two copies of the Leiths Cookery Bible, signed by principal Lady Waldegrave, a meal prepared and cooked at home by the Clifton Club's award-winning chef Dougie and bottles of champagne signed by David Cameron and Baroness Warsi.
